Umm Yazur

Umm Yazur

Umm Yazur is a Palestinian student and writer living in a refugee camp in the West Bank. She writes under a pseudonym for security reasons. Living in occupied Palestine, she uses storytelling to preserve Palestinian memory, childhood, faith, and the enduring connection to homeland.

The name Umm Yazur, literally meaning “Mother of Yazur,” reflects the intimate and protective voice through which she carries the memories and stories of her people. Her writing seeks to ensure that Palestinian children are remembered not merely as victims of conflict, but as children with dreams, dignity, faith, love and hope.

Through Sidr Productions, Umm Yazur shares her stories with a wider audience, with the hope of preserving these experiences for future generations. Yasser's Dream is her contribution to keeping Palestinian childhood and memory alive, while giving voice to the dreams and hopes that endure even in the most difficult circumstances.
