The Palestine Sermons

The Palestine Sermons is a collection of twenty-five Islamic sermons delivered by Professor Khaled Abou El Fadl, distinguished law professor and classically trained islamic jurist, between April 2018 and May 2024 in relation to ongoing developments relating to Israel-Palestine. The book chronicles a crucial period that includes the so-called “deal of the century,” the normalization “Abraham Accords” between Israel and several Arab governments, and the election of the most far-right government in Israeli history, among other key events, leading up to and including the aftermath of 7 October 2023. Topics addressed range from freedom of speech in the West to despotism in the Muslim-majority world, social media censorship to campus protests. The Palestine Sermons engages current events from an Islamic theological perspective and will appeal not just to Muslims but to all people of conscience amid the ongoing challenges of injustice and oppression in our world.
